Since 2009, Tharaka Women’s Welfare Program has empowered over 1,000 women through an adult literacy initiative, fostering education, career growth, and social support for lasting impact.

Sisters Read Program

It provides education sponsorships to vulnerable girls in rural Kenya, empowering them through school fees support and computer training, helping prevent early marriages and fostering community development and personal growth.

In Tharaka, initiation ceremonies mark the transition to adulthood, but practices like Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) pose serious risks. The Alternative Rite of Passage (ARP) offers a safe, empowering way to preserve this cultural tradition without harm.
